"This'll be fine, so long as..."

  1. Decided to take the pretty way home this evening, along windy narrow
country lanes. As I approached the narrowest, windiest part I fetched up
behind a doddery old **** who trundled along very slowly, weaving from
    side-to-side.

A *slight* overtake opportunity opened, on a section with banked verges.
"This'll be fine" I thought "so long as there isn't (ha-ha!) a Lotus
    seven coming".

There wasn't, of course. I mean, what are the chances?

    It was a Caterham.

    *PARP*.

Still, I didn't crash, so it was obviously safe.

"My, what big eyes you have".

    Verona is fantastic.

Especially when you've fucked up the centre access and the one way system
    - Hey, it's pedestrian time, crowded, narrow medeival streets with classy
shops and I'm trying to get an old Jag down them the wrong way.

The restraunt who moved their tables so I could turn were very obliging.
    As were their diners.

I have a GB plate - the automotive equivalent of speaking slowly and
    clearly.

Dude, your entire car is a the automotive equivalent of speaking slowly
and clearly. The GB plate is entirely superfluous.
