Ok, does this mean that if BP and Shell paid for the dammage their
products did to the envoronment, they'd go bust?

Also, £32.9 billion quid government earnings from fossil fuel, blimey..

I blame the Arabs.....they have most of the raw stuff so why not have them
contribute toward a cleaner atmosphere ?

Well... dunno. I blame too many humans on this planet as the cause. I
was chatting to someone the other day about the planets population
growth. He thought that the population growth plotted over the years on
a graph was exponential in nature.

Exponential growth is not sustainable, and the very fabric of society
seems to encourage it, our very DNA does... so where does that leave us
as a race? Fucked unless this magic cure by technology for basic human
    nature and greed works.

I'm sure that there's a joke in there somewhere about elephants,
    cherries and trees.

Well, war is here to stay, but have the nukes really gone away?
The sort that is passed like a common cold would that be?

Isn't this Darwinism at work, before our very eyes. Interesting
to see how we cope with it.

I don't know. Unless our nature changes and we can find the strength to
fall back.... I think we may experience resource / population control
    the hard way.

Does Darwin discuss perpetuity of the human race through technology? In
this aspect, we're unique.... only if we can get away from caveman
instincts that is. I think that the only way we're going to survive, is
through different thinking, will this evolve too? (which goes back to
Darwin). In the present climate, it doesn't look like it. :)

Is that the pilgrimage one, working from humans back to primordial soup?
