Bit incident packed that wasn't it? I'd imagine some interesting team
meetings went on after the races, Ducati after race 1, and Suzuki after
race 2. Funny thing was them trying to get information about the Suzuki
race orders out of Niall McKenzie.

    Excellent racing I thought tho.

    Steve P pibbled:
Commentary was shit though. First race, some guy launches a GSX through the
bales, over the tyres and into the (massive) crowd. /The race has been
stopped, I don't know why!/ crackled through the tannoy. Gore-hungry woman
behind us goes to investigate. She comes back to tell us of bikes fliying
through bales, bodies on the ground, head injuries, lights everywhere, the
works. The commentator prattled on for over half an hour about absolutely
nothing, not even mentioning the growing pile of blue light at the crash
scene, before finally telling us that /some *debris* has 'encroached' the
viewing area, one spectator had a broken arm, another had bruising/. He
still didn't tell us who the rider was (Dijon someone, from memory), or if
he was ok (he was). If anyones got photo's can they please post them.

Then of course there was Sean Emmett. If you havent seen the end of race 1,
make a point of it. The tosser is halfway round the final bend a couple of
lengths ahead of the Rizla brothers, so he decides to give a victory salute
to the crowd. Single-handed, he hits the gas out of the corner, loses the
plot and squirrels over the line in third. It's one of the funniest racing
moments I've seen in years. Just to rub it in, in an interview afterward he
claims the pit board had said he was 3 secs in front instead of 0.3, so it's
all their fault. Definitely a team meeting I'd like to look in on.

Glad it wasn't just me that thought it was hilarious then.

Not so funny was JR coming off trying to go around Lavilla. As I said I
thought the race orders would have been for Lavilla to help JR out as
much as possible. He seemed, particularly in Race 2 to be doing what he
could to annoy JR. Still it's opened the championship up.

Well, generally commentators at events downplay that sort of thing, so
    I'm hardly surprised.
Sheesh. Paul Bird is not a very sympathetic employer, and Emmett is
already on borrowed time, I think.

Sky cut straight to the pit box and he did not look happy. They managed
to get an interview and he just kept saying how hard the team had worked
to get the bike competitive and what a "strange" thing it was for Emmett
    to have done.
