Does anybody know the best place to get a new trip meter knob for a
98/99 thunderbird sport? The old one has wobbled its way to freedom.

My google and email mojo has abandoned me.

    I'd try Sprint first - http://www.triumphparts.gbr.cc/

    Ta Krusty.

Emailed them just now - Ive noticed they also do a large screen which
fits other TBird models (no mention of the sport, so probably does not
fit) but may enquire about that as well.

While I'm at it - do you know anywhere to get high touring screens
that would fit a tbird sport? Ive got a lovely Givi one (tinted) but
its not high enough - whatever I do I get a lot of buffetting - if it
wasn't for the chest blast I'd get rid of it now). Ive heard of MRA
screens but the only one that I think would fit would be an addon
screen that would just alter the flow slightly - not sure if they are
    any good.

Don't know anything about TBirds, but I'm sure the MRA touring screen
for naked bikes could be made to fit with a bit of B&Q bracketry.
Ultimately though, if you don't want the wind-blast, get a bike with a
    fairing!

That should, of course, have been *ebay* mojo.

    MRA catalogue has several options
    http://www.mrashop.de/mrashop/cmsAction.do then sellect by brand

Cee Bailey is another popular make but they don't cover your model.

seems Ermax no longer make screens

However, as you already have a Givi, you might find anything bigger
overwhelms the handling. A mate fitted a huge Givi screen to his Transalp.
He liked it up to 60 mph but at continental cruising speeds he found it a
PITA as it caused the bike to weave all over the place.

**** thats a good point. Ill take a look at the MRA site and may try
their standard naked screen - maybe the flip top bit really does make
a difference (everything I have tried on the givi screen (which needs
replacing as I cracked one side of the laminate when I dropped the
bike (into mud)) seems to just alter the amount of helmet noise!

the winglets, deflectors or whatever do work well on many bikes. The
standard screen on the R-GS is crap and I've seen all sorts of adaptations.
Some with CB or MRA bits, some home made.

You could try fitting a temporary deflector to the top of the screen using
duct tape and some semi-rigid plastic. As the Givi is fucked anyway you
could even drill it to attach some experimental gubbins.

Not eccentric enough, get one of these and be the envy of the world.
