If you park on a yellow line(but the line is broken) and get a
    ticket,
you can get it canceled. "Traffic Wardens don't wand you to know
    that"
because it is illegal to issue tickets on broken lines.

Tickets on broken lines are illegal. If you take photos of the broken
lines and challenge that fine in court, you will win.

If you pay the fine, you are wasting your money(you might as well be
just go-around giving money to traffic wardens)

Thanks. That's useful. About as useful as your learned opinion that it
    is legal
to park on double yellow lines for five minutes or single lines for twenty.

How about lines obscured by snow? Are they still valid?
