He certainly has! Clem is the Wizard of the Hose Clamp, the Master of Mitre
Ten nail thingies that can hold snapped subframes together, the King of the
Cable Tie, Improviser Extraordinnaire AND the Legend of the Levers. Also
known to fellow Phillip Island pilgrims as He Who Wrought Roadside Repairs
in the Rain. My hero! :)

OK, but guessing doesn't do it. You need to jack it up, a small car
jack under the front of the engine will do it, so you can feel how
much slck you have. If you haven't done this before I recommend you
contact a helpful loccal person, such as Clem as you're in BrisVegas,
or take it to a shop. (Clem will do anything for a beer or twenty.)

You're just biased Betty. Getting rescued does to to maidens. Did I
ever tell you I fixed a broken Guzzi Electronic igniter with a 1960s
Land Rover coil, a Mitsubishi L300 jubilee clip and a piece of wire at
    Mundrabilla?

Ask Zebee about the biker that was stranded on a remote road without a
tow rope when there was miles of it less than ten feet away.

[Blush] You are too kind Betty.
(and I also appreciate how you carefully skirted around the fact that the
broken-subframe and the roadside-rain-repairs were on my OWN bike rather
    than someone else being rescued!!)

Yebbut.... the point is, you could DO them (unlike a certain shortarse who
shall remain nameless, who just says stuff like "#*%$, I suppose that's the
end of that then. I shall have to go home. Oh, wait. I can't. My bike's
    broken." <grin>

  7. It appears that the knobless one, when riding or trying to ride a
motorcycle, seems to have it in pieces at all times, whether it falls apart
before a scheduled departure, or along the way,
It has been documented in many posts, of his misadventures with motorcycles,
yet he still tries to convince everyone here that he knows everything about
    bike riding and bike repairs.
I have no problem with that, as there are many people who claim they can
ride or repair motorcycles but in fact cannot,
the problem lies with so many posters here, who actually believe the crap he
    comes up with.
He posted not long ago, that he needed the wiring for a Triumph, which I
happened to have in one of my sheds and I offered it to him, both here and
to his email address he posts,
but, apparently, that email address is as false as his claim to be a
motorcycle expert as I got no reply from either.
Somone said that he may have me in his "killfile"......great words...aren't
    they ?
I am not the only one in his "killfile" because as I was told offline, that
his "killfile" consisted of anyone who posts here, who happen to disagree
    with anything he says.
Sounds more like a spoilt little brat who can't get his own way, so takes
his bat and ball and goes home.
He may be a nice person to talk to and to have as a friend, as quoted by a
few here, but his niceties do not extend to his performances.

  11. What Theo says. I'll talk to you George, I don't always agree with you
but you are entitled to your opinion as much as Clem is entitled to
not read your opinion, but your vitriole towards him is totally
overboard. I cannot understand where it comes from. In this situation
you are acting like a 15 year old kid.

You bring a lot of experience and advice to ausmoto, but I'd ask you
to think about why you seem to have it in for Clem.

  13. Kevin, I don't "seem to have it in for Clem", it is for real,
it is from past experiences, which you might have not read.
I offered advice and tried to pass on experiences that I have had to others,
then all of a sudden, because I disagreed with knobless, he starts with the
    rant on "Stupid George"
So, naturally, as would anyone, including yourself, I retaliated
    and the saga continues.

If you had been in Northcote yesterday or if I had caught up with you
somewhere along the way, you would know that I am a bastard of a bloke to
get along with at the best of times, but when someone tries to upset me, I
    get worse.
I have been called names and been upset by experts and from what I have seen
of knobless's retorts, he is only an amateur.
There has been times where I forget about a persons natural disabilities and
    help them anyway.
If you care to look back, you will see where I even tried to assist him with
wiring diagrams, but because of his superior attitude to others here, he
missed out as he has me in his "killfile".

I do wish ausmoto would provide more useful information. I mean come
on guys, *where* are these "lives" to be found?

Everyone says get one, no one seems to have one, google's no help, and
when I asked at that big bike parts place in Paramatta they all looked
    at me funny.

  20. Have you changed the fork oil recently? If you are in Perth I can recommend a
    suspension guy.
