    Nah, no need. Pull off the wheel, access panel on inside of mudguard,
    drain the radiaor, remove head, manifolds, valve access panel, have a
    selection of brass drifts, hammer and grinder ready, and you're nearly
    ready to go. Hmm, maybe it is easier to take the engine out.

    You didn't have a spare valve handy? You should have been more
    careful. OK, we can fix this. Grind the valve seat some more.

    Yes, and I had a dummy hardwood valve guide turned for just that
    purpose.
    The bitch was in having to completely assemble the bits, including
    guides and springs, before taking feeler gauge measurements, then
    dismantling and grinding, assembling and measuring, dismantling...
    Much easier (for tiny values of much) with engine out.

    I think the Defect would have to go into the grandfather clock with
    weight movement. Doesn't wind up.
