You've seen them in the flesh, I assume? I found them even more ugly than
    they look in the pictures.

KTM Superduke or 95 Supermoto? Might be a bit tall for you.

    Buell of some description?

Persuade Suzuki they want to do the GSR600 with the 1000 engine in?

  3. No, it was a bad gearbox. Trust me(tm).

  4. Sounds bloody silly,. but a Ducati Monster might fit the bill. Either a
750, or one of the new injected 695. One of the old injected 620s might
    suit.

Remarkable reliability (for a Ducati), more usable and livable-with than
a 900,llet alone the 916/996 engined things, and all the fun you want.

And they can be bought in The One True Colour.

My mate nabbed one of them from one of his mags test fleet the other
day and really rated it. Said it was more fun to ride than the new
Fireblade he'd had the week before.

heh, but they only have about 60bhp. Apparently, that's a 100bhp too little.
He should just get a 1/2 yr old S4R.

Since it looks like Standard Life are going to chuck some money my way
I've been looking for a replacement for the CBR. Something a bit
different and not quite so 'full on' as a super sports. The favorite so
far is the Aprilia Falco. Sounds perfect for you. Fast(ish), different
and loads of mid-range. Early (2000), low mileage ones are going for a
    couple of grand on ebay.

These have *slightly* higher that average seats, I think, but I've a
vague idea that they're fractionally lower than the Mille on which
    they're based.

I will be able to give some idea of what a standard (pre-R) Tuono
feels like, as I'll be riding one later today. I think that the latest
Tuono -R is slightly different, though.

Buy Champs instead. At least you know it's not been written off and
then later smashed to **** on a track.

Are you hinting that someone you know has a ZX10R that's been written
off or lobbed down a racetrack?

Read it again, I never alluded to anything of the sort. I merely stated
that Champ's gixer is looking less damaged than a certain ZX-10R we all
    know.

My gixer won't be sold via ukrm, at any price. It'll either be sold
    privately elsewhere or traded in.

    He's obviously fixed it recently.
I'd do the same because what the buyer doesn't know doesn't hurt them
    does it?

Paintwork is being done at the moment, from what I understand.
    Exactly.

My bike looks really good for the year, if I sell it elsewhere I'll be
able to get a much better price. The fact that it's been a Cat D makes
about 500 quid difference, as long as it's all repaired properly, which
    mine is.

I suspect I'd have got one myself if they'd been invented when I bought
the ZRX, but, they're not really different enough to warrant me changing
    bikes now.

    Fantastic machines though.

  19. In uk.rec.motorcycles, Lozzo belched forth and ejected the following:
That one we saw in George White's[1] was nice. Nice price, too.

[1] Not that I'm suggesting you buy anything from George White!
