Bugger. Managed to highside leaving the car park of my mate's flat, I
was a bit enthustastic trying to make a quick exit and the rear tyre
lost grip, launching me into the air when it gripped again... the
ensuing slide ground a hole in the crank cover allowing all the oil to
piss out (I cleaned it up like a responsible human)

Damage to bike (CBR600FX) - aforementioned hole in engine, indicator
broken, screen broken, considerable scraping of the lhs fairing.

Damage to me and kit - took a load of skin off my hip, which is weird
as there's no hole in my jeans. Perhaps they came off slightly during
the slide, so it could have been even more embarrasing. Basically
landed on my head and left shoulder, and now helmet and jacket are both
fit only for the bin. Gloves have lost a bit of armour so probably
aren't waterproof any more, and my tank bag got covered in oil as well.
Severely dented ego. Still made it to the date I was hurrying to get to
    though :)

Anyway, it could have been worse, I haven't broken any bones and I
don't think it's going to cost all that much to get the bike rideable
again. My problem is that it's not rideable, and it's just sitting in a
side-road in dalston so will probably get vandalised pretty quickly (if
only they would just steal it... though it's in a bit of a state so
unlikely). Is there anyone here from round this neck of the woods that
has a trailer and car that could give me a hand getting the bike home?

Thanks in advance, and let the pisstaking commence.

  2. Denim is quite abrasive - especially when trapped between two moving
    surfaces.
    Chicks dig scars.
I'm sure no-one would do that. UKRM is such a caring-sharing place
    after all.

    And then you wake up..

    You heavy-handed, clumsy ****.
Dalston where? Is that in that Lahndahn?

Have you not got recovery with your insurance? If not, I'm ~40 miles
away and could sort you out, but there may well be somebody closer.

When I highsided my FZR my right knee got skinned badly at the back
(probably by some projecting part of the bike) despite the breathable
stretch fabric at that location on my leathers not showing any damage.
I think the fabric liner itself did the skinning.
    Clumsy ****.

This is very similar to what I managed to do a few months ago with
similar results. It makes you feel like a tit, eh?
