I used to destroy a BT45 on the back of the 350LC in about 3500 miles
    maximum. They grip well though.

I put Maxxis Baccarudas on the CB250RS. I managed to get the footrests
scraping on very damp country lanes with those tyres. They rate as the
best wet weather tyres I have ever bought, and they are as cheap as
chips. They are also fantastic in the dry. I only got 2500 miles out of
    the rear though.

  3. Maxxis Barracuda tyres are the thing for cheapy commuting. They used to
be some cheap shit make (Kenda, Chung Kin, Chop Shooey), but have
improved out of all recogntion in the past few years.

Somehow I don't ever imagine a tyre on one of your old strokers
reaching its maximum theoretical lifespan. Dunno why.
That's what were on the 400/4 I had, except they'd spent the vast
proportion of their 5+ year life doing **** all. It's a great way to
turn a grippy tyre into an everlasting teflon equivalent.

Having said that, I never had grip problems while cornering, just
    under braking.

I treated my old strokers in the manner in which they were intended to
    be used.
