I just discovered Cobweb (hosted Exchange specialist) sub their broadband
out through Tiscali. They didn't mention that up front.

    **** **** and Double ****

So as far as I can see port 119 is blocked most of each day/evening. No
doubt P2P will be the same? Anyone had this problem.

I'm posting to Motzarella using port 443 secure. Cobweb completely denied
any port blocking or traffic shaping.

  2. So do Pipex Homecall. I *very* nearly changed over to them from the normal
Pipex just so I could have the 'phone line rental through them too. Luckily
one of the sales bods let it out when I complained it was taking longer than
    it should to change over.

A brother-in-law is with Tiscali and was denied access to iTunes for over
two weeks. He called Tiscali to complain, then again a couple of days later
to get a migration code. iTunes started working that very evening.
    Coincidence or cunts?

Normal pipex use shaping too. At least, the connection I'm on is
getting so bad that I can't play games, p2p doesn't work at all and
    skype/msn is getting pretty bad.

Sadly, I wouldn't recommend them to anyone anymore. They're a right
shower. Any complaints have been met with a very long automated email
which I can only assume was designed to make attaining the next stage
    of the complaints process unreachable.

If you need NNTP access on any wierd port number you care to mention
(apart from the usual ones that I'm already using for other stuff),
drop me an email and I'll set up an account for you.

    Cheers.
Motzarella has a second non standard secure port. It works fine so I know
    their support people are fibbing.

I was with Pipex for 2 years (about 2 years ago too) and back then they
were good, no limits, no shaping and believe me a whole student house
hammering the P2P for all it was worth and never a problem.

Seems now they have changed into a bunch of cunts. I blame Hasselhoff

This is an IT group which occasionally strays into motorbikes, didn't you
    know?

Teach a man to fish and he and his pikey mates will have the
river cleaned out in a day.
