LOL Even better; it states further down he announced a few months ago he's going to retire at the end of 2009. :-D The bit about Mark Gibney sucks, mind.
ISTR he's since retracted that statement I think. He comes out with shit like that just to self publicise. Quite -- Steve Parry BMW R80RS, 03 BMW R1100S Boxercup, 07 K1200GT SE 95 BMW F650, 87 Yamaha FS1, Sukida SK90PY, 91 Kawasaki AR50, BMW 330Ci www.gwynfryn.co.uk
Oh... well someone needs to tell Wikipedia that then. And I guess one should expect nothing less from a **** of Brunstroms calibre, really.
I don't get it. What's the joke? You do know how Wikipedia works, don't you? Actually, you probably don't, on further consideration.
Touched a nerve with someone as it's been amended Just reading his blog at http://www.north-wales.police.uk/portal/blogs/cc/default.aspx and he seems to accept the right for people to engage in hazardous activities, shame that acceptance doesn't extend to motorcyclists eh -- Steve Parry BMW R80RS, 03 BMW R1100S Boxercup, 07 K1200GT SE 95 BMW F650, 87 Yamaha FS1, Sukida SK90PY, 91 Kawasaki AR50, BMW 330Ci www.gwynfryn.co.uk
There was an entry in there stating he was diagnosed with OCD and that the meds weren't working as he was still victimising road users But it's been removed. <snip> -- Steve Parry BMW R80RS, 03 BMW R1100S Boxercup, 07 K1200GT SE 95 BMW F650, 87 Yamaha FS1, Sukida SK90PY, 91 Kawasaki AR50, BMW 330Ci www.gwynfryn.co.uk
This is the link referred to on the Wiki page as the source for the supposed announcement that he is planning to retire: http://www.northwaleschronicle.co.uk/news/Chief-Constable-Richard-Brunstrom-to.4377971.jp "In the interview, which is broadcast tonight at 6.30pm, he gives an intriguing insight for his reason to join the force. He was a disillusioned PhD student at Bangor University when one wet afternoon he saw a policeman asleep in his car. He said: "There was a police car parked in the centre of the roundabout with the engine on and the windscreen wipers going. "And as I cycled past in the rain, thinking I wasn't enjoying my life much, I saw there was a police officer in the car. "He was lying flat in the driver's seat with his hat over his eyes, clearly fast asleep because the windscreen wipers were going, and I thought 'I could do that job'." Maybe one biker too many woke him up in his formative plod years by riding past on a bike with a loud can, and 'so it began'... ;-)
If something featured on Wiki is considered to be inaccurate, 'someone can point this out to Wikipedia' can they not? And if they do, Wiki may choose to amend the article, depending on what confirmed sources can be found (if any), to back up something someone has stated on there. Given your lengthy track record around these parts with regards to 'The Art Of Condescension', the above isn't exactly unexpected.
Nope, if you think something on a Wiki, be it Wikipedia or any other, is inaccurate _you_ change it. That's the whole point.
Up to a point, it would seem: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Administrators But yes, I concede that you don't 'point something out to Wikipedia' if you feel it is inaccurate.
Which he quickly turned into "I've no intention of resigning for the foreseeable future" -- Beav VN 750 Zed 1000 OMF# 19
Not off the top of my head, no, but it's what he said (or something very similar). Wiki isn't actually the be all and and all of information thanoze. -- Beav VN 750 Zed 1000 OMF# 19
