I ordered 4 tiny AP Racing pad retaining pins and 2 sets of front brake
pads for the Gixer today, Performance Friction 95 compound as
recommended by PFM - the disc makers. Even with my sooper-dooper trade
discount the bill was nearly 90 quid.

By **** these pads had better be good.

Oh dear, well they can't be any better than the standard AP setup. The
AP pads were not cheap either mate.

AP pads warped the original discs on my 9R and wore out rather fast at
the same time. Should I start an anti AP campaign?

I had EBC race pads on the AP discs and they lasted at least 5K miles
and the disc rotors still look like new. Shame the carriers and bobbins
    are all fucked now though.

Unless you're about to buy new calipers and discs, it won't make any
difference to you, Molly. I'm using AP Racing calipers with PFM ductile
iron discs. They are nothing like the standard brake set up you run on
your Gixer. I don't know if Performance Friction do a pad with a
compound to suit the stock Gixer calipers and discs, but it won't be the
same compound as the one that I'm using.

Cheers mate, I will be changing he bike soon and still torn between the New
Gixxer and 10R. If only the RSV were smaller I would be in the running.

I wish I could justify it. My Gixxer is still a great bike but it's a bit
too big for me. I'm just 57Kg these days.

Here, let my justify it for you Molly:

"I want it so I must have it"
    "I can so I will"
"Who dies with the most toys wins"

or to put it another way

Do What Thou Wilst Shall Be The Whole of The Law

Are you still working at all or has retirement caught up with you?
