TOG: Valuation of XJ900S

Discussion in 'UK Motorcycles' started by Toad of Toad Hall, Sep 17, 2004.

  1. 96 Divvy 900.

Kept outside and commuted most of it's life so not in first flush of youth.

    44,000 miles.

    Good tyres/consumables.

    Stainless Remus Exhaust.

Signs that it's been dropped but light scuffs, not damage.

    Plenty of MOT.

    Private sale.

    Reckon it's worth £1300???

    Thanks in advance.

The Older Gentleman bored us all completely to death with wittery prose
    along the lines of:
**** that. I would, if I was back in the UK.

I'd seriously consider it on a SOB for the winter basis at that price. I'm
sure I'm not the only one.

    So what's mine worth?

1999 on a T (June). 16800 miles, new rear tyre and battery. Decent
condition - i.e. not a rust bucket, I bought it a year old and have used it
for the drier 6 months of the year only. MOT to sometime in summer next
    year.

It was originally bought to tour the South of France - this it did. On the
way back to the UK it tipped down. Now Janet is less than willing to go out
on it. I have been thinking of letting it go for about £2250 or so - am I
    underselling it?

  7. I traded in my X-reg one for the Troophy, a year ago, and got (IIRC)
3.2k for it (which was a helluva deal, but then the dealer flogged it
for 3.7k!). It was in superb nick, mind.

I think 2250 is a shade low. I'd pitch it at 2750 and see who bites.
