I have access to a SV650 on a T reg with 44k miles on the clock, been
sat in a dry shed for the last two years and started with a battery
charge, pumped up the tyres (not flat) and passed the MOT with one
advisory which was the rear tyre was close to being illegal.

It has a restrictor kit fitted with certificate from dealer who fitted
it, crash mushrom things, blue, slight tear in seat, rides and drives
    ok.

No service history as the muppet lost it.

Tidy generally and reliable, so hit me with what you think it's worth
to punt out on fleabay etc?

Obviously i have been offered it cheap, I just want to see what I can
make on it if i spend a few hours cleaning it up and making it all
    sparkly.

    Thanks
    Alan

Judging from eBay ended items 99 models are not selling too well.
With a new MOT in tidy condition with lots of shine 500 to 700 looks
    about right.
You would probably do a bit better by hanging on to it until spring.

Is the restrictor kit easy to remove, if so offer it with or without.

No idea if it's easy to remove, it's not the sort of thing i would do
anyways, i prefer more modern stuff where the bolts come undone and
generally dont snap and make you swear.

    Thanks

Well he wants £350, i cant be arsed to fetch it, clean it and have the
    hassle of flebay.

It can stay in the shed.

    Thanks

Heh. I wondered who'd bite first. I would've offered Alan 400 quid to
collect & hold it for a while if I wasn't about to spend all my pennies
    on Froggie petrol.

    A) I may need a working bike bigger than a 125 soon.
    B) Us recently made redundant old gimmers have to earn a bit of pin
    money somehow.
    C) I may be coming back up from the tunnel terminal with an empty bike
    trailer.

    Empty bike trailer you say?

Subject to the usual carriage rates sir. The UR consignment for
    fluffycat is different.

Naturally, if your (bike's!) shite old Italian electrics have given up
by then that would be a deserving cause and *theoretically* I could get
two bikes on the trailer anyway (the Nordwest and Voxan coexisted OK to
and from Prescott in 2007). I'll throw some extra tie-downs in the back
    of the car.

Oxford, and if i know the owner then it will stay there for a while
longer until he gets fed up, then a song will be handed over and I
might be arsed to do something with it.

Fair enough. That could have possibly been very convenient. Just hope he
doesn't cut you out of the loop when he does decide to turn it in to
    cash.

'swot I thought. I was trying to convince my mate[1] who was made
redundant earlier this year that he should consider doing a bit of
Togging ( 'T' !). He knows his way around Morinis well enough to turn a
profit. Strictly one at a time and 'owning' each one properly only to
find them not repairable at 'reasonable cost' naturally. Either that or
an HGV training course - must tell him about the 7.5 ton licence thing.

[1] Should anyone require an expert in telecoms protocol test scripts,
he is shit hot at it. He is regretting doing such a good job for the
multi-national that closed the site he worked at and are still using his
    scripts.

But it might only fetch £500, or half of **** all, so I'm left with it.

I shall gamble he needs the cash at christmas.

If it's anywhere near me I'll pick it up and hold on to it for Pete. If
he doesn't want it, I'll have it for #1 son[1]

    <forms orderly queue>

    I got him.

Looks like Alan is keeping it as an ace in the hole, and under his belt
so to speak (no smut intended).
Riding it or fettling it? That Nordwest still providing grin factor?
BTW, I'll text you with an accurate(ish) ETA once I set off on my
combined UR and Voxan repatriation mission.

Ok - Alan - bear us in mind if anything changes?
Both. Took a while to get the MOT/paperwork for the import etc. to get
sorted but in the end it's turned out to be a pretty good bike for a
    learner.
It does, when I get the chance. Seriously considering taking it overseas
and leaving it there for a bit this half term. I've even got as far as
buying a tin of cellulose to paint it.
No worries - should be in all day.

I would. Turn it down, that is. Sounds like proper arseache for not a
    huge amount of reward.
