    That really surprises me, actually. I'd have thought it would be a
    Ducati of some type, or maybe one of the super-sports litre bikes.

    Apparently not. They go mad for Z750s, according to the three lads we
    met on the Alps run.

    It just tops the 100bhp rule (about 107IIRC) so maybe the fact that it
    requires no, or very little modification to meet regs is a factor. Just
    guessing mind.
    I realy wish I'd read your last para before banging on the keyboard :)
