You claimed that servicing costs are double that of a Jap bike.
They're not. Even if you add the total costs up over a 20k mile period
    they're nowhere near double.
I wasn't discounting the costs, I was pointing out that it's not a
regular service and quoting that price as if it was a normal charge is
    plain fucking stupid.

I take back my comment about you being related to Tallbloke, he might
well operate on a different planet some times but you don't even try
    to justify your stupidity.

Actually, I'm pretty sure that the 12000 mile service for my CBR600
was about 600 quid. I remember because it was my first bike, and I
was using it to commute to my first job (which didn't pay all that
    much).

An interesting bit of info 'Older Gentleman'. Was it just for
financial reasons the ISTR came to such a conclusion? Personally,
although I love the Ducati marque, I'm not surprised Ducati are
suffering. Their reappearance back on the high street since 1993 was
thanks to the 916 and what they've produced since then hasn't really
    maintained the buying publics loyality.

Watch this space I guess! I had no idea about the London store
closing. In addition, their parts supply over this summer has been
    terrible/unacceptable.
