The weather forecast says 10 degrees with sunny intervals.

    The roads are dry.

My wife is working from 7:30am to 8:30pm.

Emma is at school from 8:30 until 4.

I have nothing to do all day.

Both of my bikes are in full working order. They have fully charged
batteries, petrol in the tank and rubber with plenty of life left in.

So, do I stick my trilby in my new top-box and go pipe and slippers for the
day on the VFR or do I squeeze my lard into my leathers, prepare for a hefty
session with the physio and take the RSV out for the first time since Boxing
    day?

You know, that's the sort of decision a man can really enjoy mulling over.

The decision is made - please stand by for a "VFR down" post.

You'll accidentally knock it over while getting a decent bike out of the
    garage, right?

    Wimp.

My bike of preference is the Trumpet, but that's only cos the 12R is
    400 miles away ..

As I was riding with a mate who:

    a. Hasn't ridden regularly for 4 years and
    b. Has a GSX-F 750

....I felt the Prilly may be a little OTT. As we didn't see the happy side
    of 80 I think I was correct.

We went slowly, but they were tricky roads - A69, A68, A696.

Yes, those dual carriageways are known for being difficult to read.
