Thanks, it's my slight variation of a design I saw on holiday there a
few weeks ago. The one I saw was black to the right with lighter
shading to the left of each arrowhead in the cross. I wanted to
incorporate the national flag into it, so changed the black and shading
for white and red. When it had been finished Julie the tattoist turned
the chair round so I could have a look in the mirror, and she explained
that the redness in the scroll was just my skin inflamed, I told her I
quite liked the red in there and could she please add it as shading, so
she did it there and then.

Here's the henna tattoo I had done on Thursday:

If you can imagine how drunk I must have been to think having a henna
tattoo done would be anything other than shit, you can imagine why it
ended up looking like it does.

Still, only two weeks til it's gone...

if it was of a St.George Cross and "England" in the pennant, would you
    think the same?

Of course he would, Champ believes England is the finest country in the
    world to live in.

    Of course I wouldn't.

Like most limp liberals, I only really despise patriotism when it's
    done by the english.

thing is, whilst I know exactly where you're coming from, in terms of
English patriotism seeming distasteful, I have seen very similar
behaviour from several other countries - I once witnessed a bunch of
stripped-to-the-waist-and-painted blue French football fans trashing a
bar in Portugal - it wasn't a pleasant experience.

And I've seen a bunch of Italian football fans trashing a train
carriage on the way to Brindisi.

Maybe it's just football fans that are the problem rather than
    patriots in general.
