Got one for £320 & that includes a scala rider earpeice that sell for
around £100. Makes the Garmin Zumo550 very expensive as you dont even
get an earpeice with it. I'll ber fitting it tonight & trying it out
    over the weekend.

WQell, it's a Toyota main dealer in Sheffield. I have been twice, paid, got
the gear & fucked off. Nice folk, no worries.

Now now, I fancied a change. Are Tomtom that bad? I noticed that the buttons
are way too small for gloved fingers & the mount isnt massivly strong. But,
    for £200 as opposed to nearly £500 it's a bargain i think.

I bought one last year for £285 from Dabs Nige, cracking bit of gear.

You must've been hiding under a rock to miss Bear's recap of his
    'interaction' with TT support...
So it's a bargain that's not that usable on a motorbike and that will
fall off at the first provocation?

It's not that bad. Better than fuckign about with a screw thing.

I bought the Garmin because it's waterproof, glove-friendly and also
comes with a car mount with built in speaker - something the Rider V2
doesn't. There's been stories of TomTom's lack of customer support and
I didn't particularly like the UI of the Rider V2 or the apparent
    flimsiness of the bike mount.

I can't even access the screw thing on my bike because the screen is in
the way. When I leave the bike I take the satnav off anyway so it
doesn't bother me, so I simply rely on the overcentre catch to hold my
Garmin on. It hasn't fallen off yet.

Thanks for the offer, but I don't know if I can even get one finger in
there to tighten it up. There's just enough room for the catch to flip
    up.

Nonsense. I've had one for the best part of 20 000 miles and it hasn't
missed a beat or fallen off.
