Before I stick it on ebay I thought I'd offer it here first....

Looked after, but needs a clean. Bit of paint wear on the top tube in
front of the seat tube where my padlock sat when not in use.

Bought for just shy of £500 in Jan 2008.

Just had new rear cassette & gears.

Needs a new chain, and rings on the front set of gears I think as the
chain was jumping a lot and the teeth look well used.

Looks quite small from the pic, but if my perspective gland is fucked
again and it is too large for you, then I might be interested...

It's a hybrid, not a mountain bike, so those are 700c road wheels, not
26in mtb wheels. Looks like a 17in to me.

If it is a 17in or a Medium from the geometry table here:

    http://www.specialized.com/us/en/bc/SBCBkModel.jsp?spid=22268

then it would probably fit you. Someone with about a 30-31in inside
    leg. 5' 6" to 5' 10".

But if you were to be interested, you really need to ride it.

It's worn where the padlock was sitting when the bike wasn't being used.
The saddle however, is relatively unmarked:)

Ah, that'd account for some of it, yes. If it is a 17in, then it's way
    too small for me anyway.

And not quite big enough for me. That's the L, I'd need the XL.

    :-(

  14. Really ? I'm a 27" inside leg and not much taller than an oompah loompah !

I think it is the XL. Looking at the geometry chart I posted earlier,
I think they've changed the shape slightly. But the geometry chart
quotes actual seat tube and top tube of the XL at the same as the
    sticker on Brownz picture.

Is that saddle in your normal riding position?

Should fit Bear then. Despite what the geometry numbers say.

Bike frame sizing is a bit weird these days. The seattube length
(what I thought was 17in, what we're now saying is 22in) is
immaterial. It's the top tube length that manufacturers focus on.

Note from the sticker that that seattube length of 57cm isn't the
measurement from the centre of the bottom bracket to the centre of the
top tube, it's to the top of the actual seat tube which sticks up a
fair bit over the top tube.

Try it. Buying pushbikes based on the numbers is impossible unless
you have prior experience of exactly what fits you. I've done it, but
only because I know to the millimetre what geometries suit me.

Yeah, the was what I was getting at.
Well, not strictly true as you can put different length stems on. But
    they'll effect the handling.
