Tool for TOG

  1. ISTR that TOG likes a magnet-onna-stick. He's also a legendary
    miser...

Having destroyed the handle of my cheap Poundland screwdriver-with-
a-thousand bits by tapping a stuck radiator valve with it, I visited said
establishment again today to find a replacement (such a compact toolkit
comes in handy in quickly investigating discarded PCs for usable memory and
    hard drives...).

Found a screwdriver with not such an extensive stock of bits -- 3
flat and 3 philips bits in a rubber collar around the shaft, 3 Torx and
3 Allen bits in the handle, together with a 1/4" drive and 5 sockets, 4 mm -
8 mm. Then I realised that the packet said "telescopic". I couldn't see
why until I went to insert a bit in the end of the shaft -- the magnet to
hold the bit is on the end of a telecsopic-aerial-like gizmo hidden within
the shaft. At full extension, the whole shebang is 22" long, enough to poke
about in or around most motorcycles!

Not bad for a quid, and it takes all the other specialised 8 mm hex
bits I've accumulated over the years, if needs be.

  3. I'll pick one up for you next time I'm over town, unless you find
    one yourself in the interim.
