If you, say, have to put in old brass pins into your shiny new Laverda
battery strap, you're likely to find that they won't slide in
    (errr). Like, at all.

A drop or two of Autoglym's Vinyl and Rubber care and they slide in
(oooh errr missus) just fine. And it should dry out after a while, so
hopefully they won't come out again unless required.

Same goes for KY - I had to hide a tube because abstrads at work kept
nicking the one I used for fitting new rubber grommets into vintage
hi-fi equipment, where the holes in the chassis were smaller than their
    metric cousins.

When it dries, it acts rather like a cement, so, if you like a leisurely
    poke, be warned...

You can get a free sample of proper rubber assembly lubricant.
A small bottle lasts for ages.

It's great for fitting handlebar grips too, as is hairspray.

I'm guessing 'British Airways' - cheap gag on 'airline'.

Brown Ale, as in, "Who's the lardy kid on the Fizzy, the one being
followed by that line of wasps?"

    Takes me back, etc.
