I'm a bit surprised Spies has gone so early. If he doesn't win the SBK
this year, it'll be a very long time before he's in the running for
    another world championship, if ever.

I dunno. I mean, he was getting into the top 10 reasonably often,
wasn't he? What do they want, guaranteed winners? Someone should tell
    them Rossi's not available.

Given the year Spies has had, it's not a major shock, but I'm wondering what
a rider has to do to stay in MotoGP. Granted Toseland's 2nd season wasn't as
good as his first, but he's not on the worlds best bike despite what we're
    led to believe.

Edwards has never even won a single GP and isn't likely to (I'd go as far as
guaranteeing he won't) yet he keeps his ride? He'l be laughing like a ****
at this decision. Well he will 'til Spies pisses all over him next year.

The bosses seem to expect instant winners. Just like Edwards has been.

Shame really, JT's a local (ish) bloke to us & it's always nice to look for
    the local bloke.

The way I see it, Edwards is a good entertaining racer that still
makes the podium enough to keep on the team, in contrast Toseland is
    just a bit dull really.

I think you may have hit on something there. He's always there,
mid-field, but very rarely either crashing in spectacular style (in a
race) or involved in tense, close, tit-for-tat racing.

But anyway, won't one of the other teams snap him up now he's
    officially not riding fot Tech-3?

Yeah, good point. I wonder why Edwards is such a great qualifier and crap
    race dayer though.

The **** fucking swears too much too :)

I think he'll be in WSB again next year if he can get a ride there, along
with Chris Vermuilen and probably De Angelis.

the article uses the phrase "all-American team" which is pertinent as
Tech3's main sponsor is US based soft drink maker, Monster.

Didn't I hear somewhere they're going to be Brawn GP's main sponsor
    next year?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monster_Energy says Button sported a Monster
logo on his helmet. That personal sponsorship might turn into a team
sponsorship, as they appear to be very active in motorsport.

He'd got a podium at as WSB race and she was interviewing each podium
place in turn. She got to the rider before him and said something
like "you've ridden just about every thing in the paddock...." and he
muttered under his breath, but loud enough for the camera to pick up,
    "not the only one then".

Oh, good point, I think you may very well be right about it being
