It didn't really sound like Colin tbh. He comes across as rather a gent.

    Funny fucker too.

I don't know how he got away with that. Probably because it's true, but what
    do I know?

He's a magic rider for sure, especially during qualifying and he's
entertaining when he's not on the bike, but he's still never won a race in
    the top class.

I agree with all of that, but I also think that the teams need to invest
in the future a little more. Edwards, likeable chap that he is, has had
all the chances he'll get. I don't see him winning unless we get another
race like Donington, and even then he didn't.

So Toseland's had a bad year. He's still young and talented. Clearly he's
not getting on with this year's Yam, or maybe it's the tyres but it seems
quick to write him off when there are some old guys in there not setting
    the world alight either.

Of course, I'm not the one having to keep sponsors happy, so Poncharal may
not have had much say in the matter. Rumours were that Dorna wanted
    Toseland in.

They'd have been daft to leave him out I think. Wouldn't want him
stagnating in WSB before moving to MotoGP and being another also-ran.

I don't really know why they kept Edwards though. He's well past his sell by
and Toseland is new to the game. Given a little more support and he MAY have
been a true asset but Edwards never will be anything other than an also ran.
Good in his time on a Superbike, but never exceptional in MotoGP but I can't
work out why Tech 3 think ANY of their riders are going to be winners. Their
bikes aren't the same as Rossi's or Lorenzo's, so the top 4 riders aren't
    going to change.

At least getting Spies on a Tech 3 will prove one of two things. Either
Spies will be fucking brilliant in MotoGP or the best Superbike riders
needn't bother moving onto GP bikes.

I don't disagree with any of that.
Obviously I don't see Edwards winning in normal circumstances, but we'll
just have to wait and see with Spies. I think the bike could have done
it, before the new engine rule, so it'll be interesting to see what Yamaha
    do over the winter.
Yamaha have no choice but to put Spies with Tech3, then if he has a
reasonable season and shows potential, he could go to the full factory
team, but Rossi will have to retire, or Lorenzo go elsewhere first. Yam
would be nuts to get rid of either of them (on current form).

Of course, next year that loon Simoncelli will also be out there banging
    people out of the way.

And Alvaro Bautista, don't forget Bautista.
Bye bye Vermullen. WSB riders never seem to
flourish in MotoGP. I think Edwards has made
about the best transition of any of them.

I didn't... I love the guy and he must be a sponsors dream... but he'll be
on the Suzuki, so doesn't count in the running for top spot.

There is something to that. However, I think the Suzukis are
beginning to show signs of improvement this year. With
Capriossi and Vermullen occasionally showing the bike can run
towards the front of the field.

Hopefully that trend will continue and Bautista next year
will be on a competitive bike.

Well I hope so too, but they were running towards the top during last
winter testing and by the time the first race come around, they found that
all the others (except Kawasaki) had made some extra jumps.

Not going to get any argument from me on that one. Spies will spend his
first season on a Tech 3 and then he'll be hunted like a dog by all the
other teams apart from Yam. Obviously depending on his results, but that's
part of my point about the whole thing. He won't get great results, (at
least I don't expect him to, but ICBW) so in reality all he can hope for is
a consistancy that neither Edwards or Toseland have been able to manage.
Alongside that other loon Kallio? Those two should just hang on and wait for
Brooks to come to MotoGP then we could all watch the fairground attraction.

He's nothing like Simoncelli, who's just a complete ****. He has no qualms
in punting people off the track, or making them crash. Ask Bautista,
Barberá, even Biaggi. Plus he looks a complete fucking idiot with that
hair of his. He wants to be like Rossi, but just doesn't have the
    personality to carry it off.
Heh. I can accept the Mallory incident wasn't his fault, what I thought
was a bit off is that he didn't even go over to check Andrews was OK.

I have a sneaking suspicion that Kallio's efforts to pass Melandri, could
help his reputation of being a **** too.
Kallio climbed up and almost over Melandri and didn't seem to give a rat's
    arse about it.

Not many do, but Simoncelli's only a kid. Give him time.
Yeah, there seems to be a distinct lack of sportsmanship displayed these
days. I think the most obvious example being last weekend when two riders
came together (IIRC it was Bautista and some other bloke) and the "guilty
party" even head butted the injured party. Now that WAS a cunts trick.

I thought yesterdays Supersport race from Silverstone was going to end
up with Steve Plater throwing punches. He looked seriously pissed off
when they got to parc ferme and it seemed as if it was only his team
stopped him from going over and knocking lumps out of the loony
    Aussie.

Pfft, one incident compared to numerous from that scissor-shy fuckwit.
Misano, a few weeks ago, Iannone punted off Espargaro and then head-butted
him when Espargaro got in his face about it. Fined quite a few Euros as I
    recall. Rightly so too.

I thought the same too. I'm all for hard racing, but there wasn't even a
gap. How Plater managed a smile in the post race interview I'll never
    know.

Given how Race Direction have been so hot on the rules and punishment this
year, I wonder if they'll do anything about this. It's not the kind of
    racing I want to see.

Yeah, those were the two. (No memory me). I thought Iannone was right out of
order, but not enough of a penalty was awarded though. It was bad enough he
tried the manoeuvre he did, but to get shirty with Espargaro when he fucked
up was a **** sight worse.

He'd have got a fucking ASBO over here.
