He'd have been well within his rights IMO. I enjoy watching Skippy ride, but he was a "little" ambitious there. I was thinking "Does he think this is a game of fucking snoocker where a successful canon shot gets a cheer"? He certainly wasn't his usual cheery self. I noticed O'Connell kept away as best he could. -- Beav VN 750 Zed 1000 OMF# 19
Exactly that came up in conversation following the race here at home. Brooks got a 2+ race ban for making a pigs ear of a manoeuvre, yet O'Connell wasn't even given a bollocking for a much worse "attack" as far as I could see. Fortunately, no-one came off as a result, but that was more good luck than his good management. -- Beav VN 750 Zed 1000 OMF# 19
My impression was that he didn't have much choice about it. I like watching racing when it gets a bit close and they start banging fairings but that was just stupid. Given that the race directors running BSB meetings have a bit of form for handing out bans I wouldn't be shocked to see either last weekends race positions altered but would they hand out a ban for the last meeting of the year?
Yeah, that's what I meant. Close is good, downright dirty isn't. "The finishing positions of Steve Plater and Billy McConnell have been reversed following the collision between the two riderson the last lap." Although that's from MCN, it's confirmed by the results given on http://www.britishsuperbike.com/news/westmoreland-wins,-plater-and- mcconnell-clash.aspx
That looks pretty fair to me. It keeps the championship alive and shows that riding like a **** isn't acceptable.
