Did any one else see the camera bike go down on the Tour de France ?
He apparently hit a pot hole or somthing i and the front wheel just
slipped out on the wet road. It was quite suprising really.

He obviously couldn't handle the power of the bike.

Hardly. The roads were obviously very slippery, many very good
contestants had alarming difficulties avoiding crashes. Add to that
a passenger that is doing unpredictable gymnastics and shouts
instructions on the intercom, communication with whoever decides
what is worth photographing/filming, listening to the race marshals
and riding close to flag waving maniac spectators.
A metal manhole cover or some debris washed into the road by the
rain could down even the best among us in those circumstances.

Me, I'm very impressed with the work the motorcyclists do on
the big bike races. The job that seems worst is the suicide mission
of splitting the crowd in front of the bikers up the mountains. I'd
be a nervous wreck in no time.
