At a guess he'll gain a couple of horsepower and a lot of
    unreliability.

He should just buy himself an R1, eh? ;-)

Modification is worthwhile in and of itself.

    something about it changed.

Clearly you have too much money. I'll be happy to help you resolve
    that problem. ;-)

Oh good - I need someone to come over and help me fit the carbon front
guard and nose cone. When should I expect you ?

Those would be for anti-knee and anti-punch protection then? ;-)

    The owner? :)

I confess, I modified my new ute. The front of the tray had a couple
of horizontal bars behind the cab, one of which was right in the
middle of my rear view. So I got out the hacksaw.

No modificatons to the Norge either.

I have a serious man-crush on Robbie Phillis.
He's man of few words.... and most of them unprintable!

But he is so eloquent, even without words! I love him too, Clem - his recent
off at PI, and his fabulous sign-language in the gravel.... <shiver> Wotta

    ;-) perhaps
So there ya go, that's one.
No heated grips, aftermarket luggage, cruise control for doing the
    nullabor ?

Never changed the stereo in your car ? I mean c'mon, nothing leaves the
factory perfect. The only plus is nowadays if you buy expensive cars you
get to customise/modfy them at the factory before taking delivery
instead of having to do it after you get them home (BMW and MB love this
one). They don't really offer the same range of options from the factory
    with bikes in most cases.

(although both HD and Ducati are pretty good at it)

You get at least the first two in that list factory fitted.

    Option or standard ?

I'm still counting ticking the options list as modification
