Tracing previous owners

    Hi, can anyone help me out here?

    My father owns a Royal Enfield 700 Meteor, registration RCV129. He has
    traced back the previous owners to 1959, but has hit a blank for
    1953-1958 as the DVLA say they do not have records for that period.
    Could you point me in the right direction as I have spent hours so far
    trying to find out :)
