A bike with proper-sized wheels would be a good start.

Here's a cut and paste from Focused Events' indemnity form - I imagine most
track day organisers are pretty similar:

    Driving License
You must bring a full current UK driving licence issued by the DVLA with you
and present it at registration. You will not be allowed onto the circuit
without one. An ACU or MSA licence will not be accepted.

    Alcohol
Anybody found or perceived to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs
will not be allowed onto the circuit.
Focused Events carry breathalyser kits, if upon request you will be expected
to give a breath sample. If you choose to decline you will be excluded from
the day with no refund. If you fail a breath test you will be excluded from
the day with no refund. If you are found consuming alcohol during the day
you will be excluded from the day with no refund.

    Clothing
All riders must wear at all times whilst on the circuit: ACU/MCRCB approved
helmets, leathers (full piece leather suit or 2 piece leather suit that zips
180 degrees around your waist and back) leather boots and gloves and helmets
must comply with BSI 6658 type A and ACU gold stamp. Titanium knee sliders
    are prohibited.

    Bikes & Noise Limit
All bikes should be mechanically sound and in suitable condition to be
ridden on the circuit. There is a noise limit of 105 decibels as set by the
ACU. For safety reasons please remove mirrors or tape them up.

    Hire Bikes
YOU ARE ABLE TO HIRE A BIKE THROUGH OURSELVES FOR THIS DAY. WE ARE NO LONGER
ALLOWING THE USE OF HIRE BIKES FROM OTHER COMPANIES ON OUR DAYS FOR SAFETY
    AND INSURANCE REASONS.

    Tyres
We strongly advise you to contact your tyre manufacturer and get a
recommended pressure for Track day use. Remember set your pressures that
morning when the tyre is cold. If your tyres are deemed to be dangerous ir
unsuitable for use you will be advised and asked to rectify the situation
before you can recommence with your sessions. So please check your tyre
condition before leaving for this event. This is for your safety.
No - keep quiet about that one. Some track day organisers specifically
    *exclude* ACU licence holders.

Since one has been slung round Pahnd Island in a pretty respectable
time, I don't see why not.
