Just stick to the trackday bits, huh? The ins and outs of my relationship
are neither anything you know about, nor any of your business. Sorry if
that seems harsh, but I think you're bang out of line.
No idea as yet. My immediate reaction was 'No' because it didn't appeal.
Further reflection seemed to indicate that I should see what the general
    attraction was.
Yep. Dunt need a new tyre yet, and I really hope that there's nothing major
wrong with at at 7.5k miles. Can't really be doing with spending huge
amounts on fettling either, to say nothing of the time for both fettling
and tracking, if that makes sense.

Indeed. Not ever got anything like that fast though. Too noisy and hard to
hang on apart from anything else.

Looks at .sig. Yes, got one of them.
The car seems more tempting, but I'd not really trust any of them to be that
    caned.
I find hurtling in general quite noisy and breezy. I like riding though.
Maybe I should get a cruiser....
Heh. Even *I* don't believe that one.

I'd really rather not crash at all. Once is enough.
    Best argument so far. Ta.

Nah, blow it out the window. If you go you will only have to live with

I've only ever done one track day and I am definitely looking forward to
my next, it was the most fun I've had with my trousers on. I was very
wary at first and determined not to let the red mist descend (mainly
'cos the bike was my transport home). Just let the loonies go and do
your own thing - you will soon get the feel of what's right for you and
I'm sure you will enjoy it. I don't think of myself as a fast rider but
after the second session my rear tyre had rubber coming off the sides
and my chicken strips had gone completely, I even managed to get my knee
down which was a first for me in over 35 years of riding, especially
since I don't wear sliders! The front tyre was looking a bit blue and
although not worn to the edge there was less rubber than when I started.
Make sure your tyres and brakes are up to scratch if you decide to do
it. I was feeling tired and felt that I was pushing too hard so came in
after about 20 minutes of the third session, I think that was a good
decision and if you can control the urge to race everyone else you will
do fine. I was the oldest person there (Donnington) but I had a great
day out and met some good people who were not at all condescending to
some old fart on a lardy old tourer :) Don't bother with feeble excuses
to SWMBO - just tell her the truth - you're off for some fun.

Me too. It was all weird at first, with the wide track open spaces, I
couldn't understand why the tyres were squealing and the car squirming
at such low speeds. Then I looked down and saw I was taking some
corners at 85mph. After I while you get used to it and start inducing
    lurid slides :D

Because I might learn something, and I might find that I do enjoy it.
I'm trying to decide how likely that is.
