My bike isn't made of plastic. I occasionally have the same problem. Now
    what ?

    JL
Magnesium, chromoly, aluminium alloy and carbon fibre thanks - oh I guess
there's some plastic around the wiring - but I think even Massey
Davidson do that too to avoid letting the smoke out.

Simple. Wait a reasonable amount of time. Make a determination that
the signals are faulty. The law allows you to proceed through the
intersection if the signals are faulty provided you give way to other
    traffic and proceed with caution.

  3. What law is that Nev ?
The law as I understand it and being berated by a copper by going through a
broken traffic light , is that if you are faced with a red light, you must
wait till it turns green before proceeding....with one exception, and that
is, when directed to by a copper or a road works manager, read traffic light
repair crew, road smash scene etc.

Let's stick to the letter of the law and screw up the whole system eh?
OTOH, I still have an Infringement Withdrawal Form relating to an
infringement notice issued to me for proceeding through a non-
    responsive red light.

I guess that if you can prove that the signal was not working at the time,
then you have every chance of beating it

So you list a whole lot of situations that aren't a faulty traffic
signal, then add an "etc" and pretend that a faulty traffic signal isn't
an etc. And who cares what the police say? They can be berated too you
    know.

Mine weighs circa 220Kg. That can't *all* be plastic, can it?!

GB, that said, mine isn't as sophistamacated as JL's either. Mine is
made of *metal*, none of that magna-chro-aluwhassname-fibre stuff!

Most weights are indeed referenced to nothing.

The copper wasn't berating you because of the lights...he probably knew
    you, that's all.

By all means, you can wait for a road crew or copper to come along to
let you through. But me and Nev and every other person with a shred of
commonsense will have left you well behind, having long since proceded
    with caution etc.

  16. Of course he knew me, he has been trying to get me on numerous charges for
a long time, but I have beaten him on a number of occasions through advice I
    have gleaned from this forum

  19. That was the advice I got from this forum, but my better judgement told me
that would get me into strife and maybe it what the advisors would want, so
I did the opposite and survived.

what's the opposite of '**** off'? inviting the cop back to your house
    for sex?
