I just picked up the training wheels for my son's bicycle. I had to have some special made to fit a new bracket I made which went around the rear derailluer system. With the new bracket, it put the wheels out too far from the frame and caused the brackets to bend easily. Well, these new brackets are going to be slightly more stable...they're cut from 1/2" steel. It's funny, they weigh more than the bike itself. I think this time, my son will snap the axle before he bends the brackets for the wheels. :-) Depending on how they work out, I'll probably have them either chromed or powder coated and sell to someone else who might end up with a similar problem. Either that, or I'll sell them to a motorcyclist who might need them...
