Got the thing in bits, tank off the whole fucking lot.

After much fucking about in desperation I had a look at the icu under the
seat. They look fine, but give the lef tone a crack with the handle of a
screwdriver, the fucker burst into life :)

When it does run, it pops & farts though.

2 spark plugs a cylinder too :) Odd sized plugs too :(

Well I did say sudden coming to life suggested ignition.
Still a dodgy connection somewhere perhaps, or breaking down inside the
    icu.
    What fun.

  3. Reminds me of the prob Hog had with my old XS650 - fusebox under the
seat, years of sitting on seat, seat sags, contacts fusebox,
    intermittent make and break.

The original CDI units are under the seat, i believe they get squashed
    by fat cunts.

I also have found out that you can fit one from the 650 that has two
    units in one.

    Ebay here i come :)

The fucking bike is in utter bits though. it will take fucking ages to
    get it all back together.

    Nice feeling finding summat oneself.

I don't reckon the chokes will ever need lubricating again, the amount i
    have lubed 'em :)

hhmm good point. I might just get an original one, they are feckin'
    expensive new though.
Aye, a nice couple of M8 washers :)

Just been out to check it with the cdi units swapped over to double
check pulse gen coils. It's deffo the cdi unit.

Cheers for the help btw :)

I googled it, very common amongst fat cunts on the transalp.
