A friend recently bought a Y2K Transalp (600cc version) and it does
something rather odd in the handling department.

When moving off from rest under gentle acceleration the handlebars wobble to
and fro between approx 5 - 10mph. Also does the same thing when slowing down
gently. The best way I can describe the feeling in the bars is to liken it
to a sportsbike shaking its head under hard acceleration but it is obviously
    something quite different.

Any ideas anyone? perhaps its peculiar to twin engined trailies. As I've
only ridden a (KMX125, my first and favourite bike) and a KLR650 (worst bike
ever and thank goodness it did not belong to me) I've nothing really to
    compare it to.

    TIA ... Tullyhubbert

Should have put in the original post that the bike has 4700 miles on it.

Thanks for the advice Kaybearjr, are there tyres with less knobblies (or
more smaller ones) available for trailies such as the Transalp then?
