Arseholes. I used their contact us button and sent an e-mail of complaint.
I'm getting fed up with these type of campaigning nutters making all the
headlines and forcing the political thinking. I asked them to explain how
my mother (at 69 years old) and female (one would presume) could possibly
enjoy watching Top Gear. I tried to explain that there is something in this
world called fun. I expect that to be a woosh for them.

    Where's the contact us button?

Normally this sort of thing isn't my bag but I've got just the thing for
    them.

It's on the home page www.transport2000.org.uk and I just clicked the
general enquiries on campaign issues link because nothing else was really
    relevant.

Good on you Whinging Courirer, I think we should all complain.

Er.. you sure about that? My bike gets worse consumption and much higher
emissions than the diesel car I've got...

    Bike uses more tyres too...

Why don't you - in a Mash-esque manner - post the text of your
    complaint?

If it's anything like your post, it'll be damn-near unintelligible.
And we'll all be able to have a good laugh and a good sneer at you.

Not A Real E-Mail Address says...
    Read the editors diary bit.

"Their riders may sustain the leather jacket industry, but motorcycles,
with the exception of perhaps the most innocent of mopeds, will always
have trouble getting away from the image of something rather smelly and
intimidating that approaches at ludicrously high speed and then roars,
screams or whines loudly into the distance scattering old ladies in its
    wake"

So that's a balanced unbiased opinion then...

Why? Can you not read? Or do you not understand parenthesis?

I just phoned them up and asked for the relevant email address instead:

I like Top Gear, and I considered their sweeping statement that:

"Through its recurring ‘macho’ themes of speed and power, it
fails to include the interests of most women in its programmes"
    is rubbish.

The program is lighthearted and funny, and I'll quite happily
watch it whether or not Chris is home from work - as a matter of
fact Emma often chooses to put it on too, and she's only 10.

Most women enjoy looking at and occasionally riding or driving
fast and powerful cars and bikes, it's only a few 'pathetic' ones
who are petrified of anything bigger than a Metro that ruins the
reputation of the rest of us.

If Jeremy Clarkson is encouraging us all to break the law by
his bad examples, what are other programmes on TV doing to us?
Do they really think we're so stupid as to be influenced by
    everything we watch on TV?

    Rant over.
