    Hi All,
What is the cheapest way to ship a motorcycle out of
state(specifically from Bay Area to Seattle)?
I would love to ride it, but that is not an option due to time
    constraints.
    thanks,
    Baan

Has anyone shipped a motorcyle inside a U-Haul (or similar) trucks? Is
it possible to harness the motorcycle inside the truck and move it
along with the rest of the stuff?
If you have done anything like that, I'd love to know your experience.
    thanks,

  3. a friend of mine transported his R1200C from florida to colorado in a
uhaul covered trailer with the rest of his stuff. He secured his desk and
TV in the front of the trailer, then the bike in the middle, thoroughly
tied down, put a few moving blankets around it to be safe, then packed in
a bunch of boxes of relatively light stuff all around it. He towed this
whole mess behind a lincoln towncar :-D

  4. I brought my (non-running) bike back from Vegas in the back of a
U-haul once. It was by itself in the truck, but I can't imagine that
there's any reason that other stuff couldn't be hauled with it.

Just tie it down well. And don't forget to put it in gear... I
learned that one the hard way.

Last year, I rented a Penske truck, and took 3 motorcycles (Sporty,
RD400, & 305 Super Hawk) from San Francisco to Pennsylvania along with
a big load of furniture, books, and other misc. items. the truck had
runners at waist level along the sides, which I roped the bikes to. I
covered the bikes with pads, and packed boxes around them to keep
things from moving around. I was pleased to find there wasn't even a
scratch on any of the bikes. Pricey though. Lee

Now, that's a funky stable of rides. I wish I still had an early jap
2-stroke twin (Titan, Avenger, RD). Those things were just so much
    fun.

Bet you would have paid most of that just for hauling the furniture.
The marginal cost of transporting the bikes that way may not have been
    all that high.
