Post Office annual policy was cheap (for Euro cover) and includes cover for
biking trips. Buy via Quidco for a tenner rebate. Underwritten by Fortis.

I paid £35[0] which has covered 3 trips so far (inc. one with[1] sprog)

[0] for me & the sprog
[1] well he bailed out due to feeling poorly, so I'll be able to give a
review of the claims process eventually

Looked at the PO one -

18-24 days single trip for two costs £120

Annual multi trip (up to 31 days/trip) for two costs £110

    Work that one out

If you're doing more adventurous stuff than lying on a beach, have a
    look at www.snowcard.co.uk

I don't do lying on beaches

Might do some Australian baiting in Bali, though
That's cheaper than I thought, maybe an option

Are you *sure* you haven't got cover included with your bank
    account/credit cards?

and check carefully: those fuckers at Alliance & Leicester changed their
included cover to Europe only a few nonths ago. **** all use anyway, as it
does not cover motorcycling trips if riding a bike over 125cc.

For Europe, yes (A&L premier a/c)

For rest of the world (excl. USA) I don't think so

BTW, how long does an International driving licence take to get sorted ?

    might be worth getting one

If AA/RAC shops[1] still exist, you can get them over the counter.

[1] possibly only the ones at ports left now

I don't think I'll be riding anything bigger than a Honda 90 if I'm on
two wheels - Indonesian roads aren't overly good for bikes

I use http://www.scubasure.co.uk/ for an annual policy and my house
insurance to cover my personal effects which brings the policy down to
around £66 from the normal £84 can't recall exactly and not able to
    check currently.

Took me about 30 minutes at the post office, check their web site as
only a selection of post offices do them. It cost around £5 and needed
my passport, driving licence and a couple of ID photos.
Check which country, the only place I've needed one has been Qatar,
elsewhere the UK photo licence has been fine.

  15. I've been with BUPA for a decade or more. No worries. Plenty cheapness,
too. Mind you, I've never had to see what their claims procedure is
    like.

Lloyds TSB Platinum current account. Comes with travel insurance
including winter sports (or family) cover and a fairly generous list of
permitted hazardous activities including riding a motorcycle.

£204 per annum doesn't seem particularly good value for that list of items,
especially as I already have some of them bundled in with other stuff

Between the travel insurance and the AA cover it works for me. It goes
without saying that if you already have boxes ticked elsewhere it may
    not work for you.
