Triple Speedo re-visited: Battery suspected

Spoke to my Triple owning mate today. He had exactly the same symptoms a
while back, and discovered a big thing on line about it being caused by
dying batteries. Not enough volts to bias the sensor or summat.

Given the age of the bike (just over 2 years) and the fact that it has been
a tad slow cranking of late, particularly after standing for a while, this
seems a reasonable thing to try.

So, any recommendations for battery suppliers? Preferably on line and
    *cheap*
    TIA

Whereabouts are you? Pip's pet motor factors in Flitwick are very cheap
    for bike batteries.

I've got this image of her unable to stop anywhere because she can't
    touch the floor on it.

Is that fairly close to reality?

That's cos I ordered one, and they sent me two.

They're "Sprint" batteries, who I've never heard of, and they're sent
    "dry".

Also, they were the wrong model, but ICBA to send both back.

  14. the trumpet is fully charged and the bindit would prolly start. its
the weather that's putting me off. or rather the weather forecast.
they make it sound far worse than it is and by the time i've got out
of the front door i'm not dressed for the bike so i go in the car. one
day i'll be brave and make the decision when i'm sat in bed!

There are at least 3 bike shops in or around Harlot, surely one of them
    will meet your requirements.

Much to my surprise, and utter lack of pain, one of them did. The first one
    at that.

£26.50 for a Rob Hunter, filled. Good deal I thought, and friendly staff
with it. Now to find the damned time to fit it.

The last couple I've had have been Varta, at about 16 quid.

Fitting - five minutes ... unless you struggle with the terminal nuts
and the engagement with the bolt thereof. I've found a trick there -
stick a blob of Blu-Tak in where the nut sits, and stick the nut to
it: the bolt then engages immediately and screws down through the
Blu-Tak without a problem. Can save hours of frustration.

I stick an old earplug under the nut - works a treat.

  19. Bloody genius. The number of times I've faffed about, poked screwdrivers
through crevices to try and hold the bastard nuts in place....

    Ta for that. Muchly.
