I don't think they will make much on my Tiger at this rate. A little history first, after the factory fire Triumph scrounged unsold bikes from all over the world, mine was originally sent to the U.S so they had to put it back to UK spec to sell it, they left the lights hard wired on i.e. no off switch as they believed they had to under EU regs. The bike was a demo for Wylie & Holland at Market Drayton (good bunch) and I bought it with 500 miles on the clock, three months after registration in June this year for £1000 of the new list price. I had to take it back because the fuel thingy under the tank was making a very loud buzzing noise and it was replaced under warranty - no problem but about two hours work. Then there was a recall because of a faulty batch of clutch cables, to replace the cable the tank has to come off so that was another hour or so of workshop time. Then I got a phone call to say there was yet another recall, the lights had to be changed, front and rear as they weren't the right spec and a switch had to be fitted as the bit about the EU regs was wrong. So I'm off up the ungritted ice rink called the A53 (thank you Shropshire County Council - you fuckwits) at 8.am this morning and by fuck was it cold, for another three hours standing around while they change the bits, it seems some alternator wires had to be changed too. I asked what would happen to the old lights and was told they would be binned as they had no "E" mark on them. So given that my bike has been shipped to the US and back, had work done at the Factory to bring it back to UK spec, two recalls and one warranty claim I wonder how big a slice of the profit on my bike has gone? I'm not complaining about the bike - I love it - and W&H have been great but Triumph can't afford to arse about like this with every bike they make.
