if you can show that vat has already been paid in another eu member state,
you can't be obliged to pay vat again, no matter who you are.

if, however, you didn't pay the vat in the uk when you bought it, that's a
different story (and probably it would have to be on a cd plate or
    something).

something would be the one. Not having diplomatic privileges, I don't
    get the CD plates.

Yep. Difficult to measure the second effect I suppose. IMO a bike
would have to be right on the ragged edge mixture-wise for it to make
that much difference, which is what TOG hinted above.

I recall calculating the difference between a 33:1 mix and a 40:1 mix
once: the *displacement* difference (I couldn't measure the viscosity
effect) came to less than the difference between two main jet sizes.

There is one other factor: oil generally lowers the octane rating of
petrol, though high-grade 2T oils (if not all) have some sort of
    compensation mixed in, I think.

I also have a vague idea that extra oil also helps cool the engine a
    little.

I've been running my current YZ250 on 33:1 mix on standard jets - it
should be 40:1 according to MX shop dealer. Never had a problem (cue
    tale of woe next outing).

Actually, one of the bike mags do an article on this very topic a
couple of years back, I think.

  5. While that is true, it doesn't mean that *no* tax is payable.

For instance, if you try to import a vehicle into NL, and you have not
owned it for more than one year previously, you must pay 'BPM'. This is
calculated from the *original* net price in the year the car was
manufactured, but does allow for some depreciation based on age.

Eaten? "Revenge is a dish best served cold".

(~650 hits on Google for "eaten" version, ~142,000 hits for "served"
    version)
