It's good, but not a grand better than a new Versys. Engine is smooth
and silky but doesn't feel much more powerful and the wind protection
is dire compared to my current bike. I was happier riding my own bike
away from the dealer than I was riding their demo for half an hour.

Don't think I'll be buying one of those then.

You should try the F800... whoops.

As that gets worse reviews than the Versys and costs a sight more... I
    doubt it.

Did you try the sensible one or the XC?

Have you had a bang on the head?

I expected at least a "GFY."

This bait is absolutely fucking rubbish. Next time I'll stick
    with leeches.

The clue is in the subject header.

  8. Try a V-Strom. I absolutely loved mine.

    What's the build quality like?

Looks ok, but only time will tell. Build quality of the Versys isn't as
good as I'd hoped, but strangely enough when I cleaned it properly last
week[1] it came up really good after two years and nearly 15,000 miles
of abuse and neglect. I've had some corrosion problems, but they've all
been addressed and sorted under warranty. Aside from regular meticulous
servicing the bike hasn't really been cared for and loved, it's just
been used lots and parked up dirty.

[1] I have to hold my hands up and say this was the first proper
strip-down and panels off deep clean I'd ever done on this bike from
new. Most of the time it just gets a quick wipe over with a bucket of
soapy water and a sponge, and sometimes it doesn't even get rinsed.

  11. I'm going with the Norway Nutters - I doused my GN250 (a bit late in the
winter) with that ACF50 stuff. Blimey, it's good.

If they've not cut costs from previous Tigers, it should be very good
indeed, apart from a few fasteners & the inevitable stonechip-induced
fur on the front of the engine.
