Triumph TR65 Thunderbird

  1. Yes, the early 1980s short-stroke bike, produced just before meriden
    folded.

    I rode one in 1982.

Anyway, I've just been offered what sounds like a damn good one for
ukp1500. The temptation is enormous, if only to out it again on Ebay.

  2. <Bad form post>

Bought it. It is utterly immaculate except for some foil bandage round
one silencer (replacements are dirt cheap anyway) and slightly dull
    wheel rims.

It runs like new. Recently been completely rebuilt, apparently.

Every MoT from 1987. Owners manual.

    Ye Gods.

  4. I wants to keep it, my precious. It's lovely. Smooth, sweet, classic
    looks, lovely handling.

    Fark.

That's a really interesting bike IMHO.

It's funny, that despite being from the 1980's, it's overall styling /
switchgear / general demeanour is still firmly rooted in the 1960's,
presumably this is how Triumph's people percieved how their customers
    expected a bike to look.

Also, I am fairly sure there are more than "two many clowns" on ebay ;)
