Buy a short one and use it for a few thousand miles.......it will be long
    enough by then!

    Stick with the DID.

Not a patch on DID's quality or longevity.

I had one [1] on the TL1000S and it lasted about 10thou before it started
seriously stretching, and anyone in this parish that knows me will testify
that I am not exactly gentle on chains / bikes in general. I would have no
    hesitation buying another.

[1] I think it was the Sigma

Nelly, who owns www.cornerspeed.co.uk recommends them over DID
and fits them exclusively now. He says they're much better put together
than DID (which I'm sure are the ones that snap!) and cheaper too.

The Sigma X-Ring Gold on the 748 was put on about 2 years ago
and it hasn't needed adjusting yet. It is a bit OTT though - the side
plates are huge! I'd probably go for the Racing Pro version if I bought
another as the bike only puts out 105bhp at best.

The race bike has the cheaper Omega chain which also has gold
side plates (if you like that kind of thing) and has worked well. Again
it looks like new and hasn't needed adjusting, although to be fair
we have obviously maintained it better and swapped sprockets and
the like quite often. I'd have no problem buying another.

As for B&C Express, I've bought all my chains (2) and sprockets
(about 8 so far!) through them and they've always been next-day
delivery and as cheap, if not cheaper, than anywhere else.

The plated chain sideplates are at least more resistant to corrosion
when the bike is ridden on winter roads then stuffed under a cover for a
    month in a seaside resort.

Eh? I don't follow your intention - maybe I've just been whooshed?
