What's happened to Parrish, & who's that useless Milky twat? I never
thought anyone could make the TT sound as exciting as a funeral, but he
    manages it.

Richard 'Milky' Quayle, former TT and MGP winner. He's a well respected
    TT expert.

He obviously knows the course inside out, but he really is shit at
commentating. They should use him the way Eurosport use Spalding
    instead.

Major spank-up a few years since when he clipped a wall with his
    inside shoulder.

I've seen that clip loads of times and can't understand why his hands
are way off the bars as he comes through, just before he hits the wall.

The clip is of the bit *after* he clips the wall with his left
    shoulder.

Presumably the initial impact made him sit up a bit.

Did he have WUN in the pits?

No, I was too busy fitting a wheel.

I just can't get into the televised TT. I watched the re-run of the
Superbikes last night, but the editing is all over the shop. Just as
you're about to (hopefully) get a decent clip of someone, they chop &
change to somewhere else and there's absolutely no continuity.

I liked the super-slo-mo, and Whitham is good for a giggle
occasionally, but yes, that new bloke is dire as a commentator.

It was much, much better last year for some reason.
And that may be the reason. It's only in recent years I started to
realise how much difference a good commentary team can make. The
coverage of the historic rally series on Motors is a prime example. The
whole production is utter shite, & looks like it was thrown together by
a particularly useless O-level media student in the 1970s, with cheesy
    period elevator music to match.

Last nights was a very quick highlights show of the Superbikes, the
coverage on Saturday night was much better.

Hopefully Parrish will be returning for the rest of the week, Quayle
might know his stuff but he's not a great commentator.

Ignoring the commentary - the camera coverage is excellent, imo.

That it is, & the commentary was back up to scratch now that Parrish is
back too. Changing my opinion of Guy Martin though.

I'm kind of ambivalent about this. Rules are rules, and where do you
draw the line? It was a tiny bit over the limit. But it was over.
    Where's the line? 0.1 over? 1.0 over?

He (IMHO) didn't distinguish himself by chucking his teddy quite so
    publicly out of his pram.

I kind of hope he feels a bit silly now. And I *really* hope he gets a
    win before the week's out.

All pitlane limiters should be calibrated pre-race, IMO. The rules are
there for a reason, and over is over. There's no point having a limit
    otherwise.
Last time he threw his teddy, he ended up barred from racing in
mainland GB for a year or so after slamming (IIRC) Stuart Higgs'
    fingers in his laptop.
He deserves a win, he is one of the more entertaining ones out there
    and always gives 100%.

From a thoroughly nice down to earth bloke who races just because he
loves it, to a bit of a petulant whinger. I don't blame him for being
pissed off over the penalty, but he should know there is no leeway when
breaking that type of black & white rule, & the way he behaved on the
podium was bang out of order, especially as he'd had two days to get
    over it by then.

Most racers would probably be delighted with a 2nd place in a TT, but
all he did was ruin it for the other two up there, & for all his fans
who would've liked to see him celebrate. It was childish &
    disrespectful imo.

I still hope he wins a race though...

It's zero over & that's as it should be. If you let someone off for
doing 0.112 over you have to let everyone off who does the same. So
that becomes the new effective limit, then someone does 0.1 over that
    etc etc.
He did seem to have got over it in last night's programme, but showed
no sign of regretting what he did. I think a public apology to
Hutchinson & his fans would be very welcome.
