Yeah, I thought about this after I posted. He'd have know he was right
with him, and possibly to right or left, but not _exactly_.

Yeah, he seemed to be able to get the power on a fraction earlier, and
on one or two occasions lept ahead on the straight, which seemed
strange, but I guess there was some particular sweet spot of revs &
gearing where his bike was quicker.

Heh. I remember watching Vee Four Victory, in the late 1980s, on an
old-fashioned cine projector, in a company of maybe 30-40 others, and
*everyone* was leaning in their seats.

 

I had a similar thing when it came out on tape. 4 or 5 of us watched it and
everyone was leaning and they weren't all bike riders.
