well worth going to see. some great pictures, some I've seen before. Very graphic in places. especially the two main crashes near the end, one of which is non TT but hey motor sport is dangerous. Nice tribute to Dobsy. will buy the non 3D version if it comes out on DVD. -- Adie (replace spam with nickname to reply) YZF-R1 : FZ1N : RD350LC (anyone would think I was partial to Yamahas) MRO#11 BOTAFOF#7 BOTAFOT#130 DIAABTCOD#17 MIB#24 YTC#16 BOB#15 ex-UKRMMA#22 BOMB#11
I presume you mean the "crashing and falling off a cliff" and "being run over by another rider" ones? Yes - serious groans and moans from the audience when I saw it earlier this evening during those bits.
yep. I'd not seen the Cam Donald one, thought the first version was bad but the 2nd bounce [1] after he hit the wall was nasty. nice to see both riders up and about even if they did have a little extra metal work. [1] I started to type deadly but its obviously not. -- Adie (replace spam with nickname to reply) YZF-R1 : FZ1N : RD350LC (anyone would think I was partial to Yamahas) MRO#11 BOTAFOF#7 BOTAFOT#130 DIAABTCOD#17 MIB#24 YTC#16 BOB#15 ex-UKRMMA#22 BOMB#11
You meant to go for a wank and failed? On facebook? In TT3D closer to the edge we discovered that it was part of GM's pre race prep. And if that's what makes him fast...
He posted something along the lines that he was going on a trip with the Mrs and the kids and their kids mates. The line he then uttered was "I may have to go for a wank in the woods" Assume he *meant* walk,... but with Nige, who the **** knows. the response from his Mrs was just class. -- Gavin. Really enjoyed it but think I would have enjoyed it more in 2D. I thought that the 3D would enhance the racing but it didn't and it seemed to be overly done in the interviews. So, I'm looking forward to the Bluray release; it'll be great in HD, but 3D? No thanks.
I know he meant to say walk (probably) but having seen the film, I meant to say wank. I'm not, mind. It was simply for comic effect as a consequence of it coming up (so to speak) a few times in the film
Still want to go see it, and try and find a cinema thats still showing it next week. -- Gavin. Some mag[1], donks ago, did some tests, and they reckoned having a shag was good for race prep, but it had to be with a partner. Knocking one off yourself, doesnt have the same effect apparently. [1] Probably PB, but equally could have been FB. I read both. -- Gavin. Jamie Whitham was interviewed on TV, emerging from his camper van with a big grin on his chops, when BSB was covered by the BBC. He extolled the virtues of a pre-race ride on his Mrs compared to the meditation & abstinence bollocks of some competitors.
it was fucking nasty. Even afterwards, after all the surgery, he only looks about 14 years old. I was talking to a girl after the film, who we'd been sitting in the same row as - she reckoned seeing the film actually made her want to race the mountain circuit. I reckoned she was mad.
I'd like to at least do the whole thing at speed, rather than just the mountain section and the run down to Kirkmichael.
I've done the NW200 course "at speed"[1]. Not quite the same of course, though it has to be said I nearly cacked myself the first time my lid (albeit very lightly) clipped a dry stone wall[3]. My first Shark helmet was fucked after a year of that sort of foolishness. [1] for values of "at speed" capable of an SZR660[2] [2] probably no faster than 95-100 mph. [3] I was *positive* I'd shat myself when I hit an overhanging tree branch on the B158 north-east bound towards Wadesmill on the blind-ish(depending on time of year) left hander, riding the road for the first time on my old B12. Fortunately I hadn't actually soiled myself.
you soppy poof[1]. [1] I, and many other members of the audience when I saw it laughed loudly when Guy Martin described Barry Sheene - possibly one of the most notorious shag-monsters in any sport, not just bike racing - as a "soft lager-shandy drinking southern poofter".
