9 million people watched the Laguna Seca in Spain, an incredible
audience given total population numbers (do your research). And
Pedrosa was home, and Lorenzo known not to be a contender (which he
quickly showed, he's got even more broken bones in his lower extremity
now).

People there just love motocycle racing. I wonder what the total
audience was in the USA. Can't find numbers on Google...

 

Ran into a guy Monday who knows I work events at Laguna and he said, "Wow,
were you there for the motorcycle race Sunday? This guy had a big crash and
flew off the bike." When I asked how he enjoyed the race he said, "Oh no. I
just saw the crash on the nightly news."

Nobody here is watching, still.

 

I don't think one guy's viewing habits is indicative of the viewing habits
of a whole country.

I read it correctly and I'm not sure at all if I am, it looks like 18th
in sports with about 1.2 million, I have no idea what the .09 means...

 

There is something to be said about NASCAR and their four hour races. Lots
of opportunities for sponsors to get on board and market like crazy.

 

I'm not so sure he's too wide of the mark. If you've ever seen the
"America's Most Criminal DEATH Driver Law Enforcer" type programmes
you'll know what I mean.

'They' know what people want to see and it's basically the lowest common
denominator. Even if it's not even that dangerous it'll be hyped beyond
beyond the realms of all sense.

Even ours are getting a bit silly: "We're for it now, he had his
indicator on".
