Will it be linked to this newsgroup, so that we have to decypher
    things like "@Cab %is #pissed"?

Heheh. If I'd thought about it, I could probably have designed a quick
program to take tweets and post it into a single thread. Too bloody
    late now. :)

Wouldn't it just be easier to use #ukrmrun?

Only for those who want to tweet as they'll have to logout of their
account & login to the new one.

And using a hashtag would still make it possible to see who's tweeted
    too.

Or was anonymity an objective, not a side effect?

Ah, I missed the #. How does that work then? Ah seen.

The only thing is, that there are already 14 people following the above
and I don't want to upset them by changing the link at this stage.

I've created a public #ukrmrun2010. Can they tweet to that?

    You've done what?

Look, you don't "create" a "public" hash tag, you just use it. And then
the hash tag will start trending, and anyone searching for it (via
google, the Twitter site or a proper client that can leave searches
running) will see tweets that include that hash tag.

Your best bet might just be to have people include @ukrmrun2010 in their
tweets (if anyone bothers, and it's pretty unlikely) and then anyone
with the account details can log in as @ukrmrun2010 occasionally and
retweet what they've received and the retweets will be received by all
    followers.

Of course, it'd be a lot more straightforward if you'd checked how
Twitter works before starting this whole escapade. Get with it, daddio.

You realise of course that you cant "follow" a hashtag, its a search filter.

You can tweet *using* a hashtag so when you then filter that tag the
tweets come through, but that is all.

The tweet-and-retweet approach is the best one, I reckon. Though the
idea of a semi-anonymous free-for-all under one account does have some
    merit.

FWIW it would be much more sensible just to use #ukrm, unless you're
particularly worried about separating out tweets about the French Run
from the huge amount of other ukrm traffic.

Err with a decent app a hashtag is equvalent to following.

Wicked, that's one username and three different hashtags. How could it
    possibly go wrong?

Anyone want to suggest something else?

So use the hashtag in your own twitter account when posting from the
run, and use the @ukrmrun2010 account to anonymise it?

I dont think that UberTwitter or Twitteriffic does that though - and
you certainly cannot from the website either.
