She got done for 'without due care' not for bumping cars when parking
but for yapping on her mobile while she did it.

No she didn't: "A second charge of driving while using a mobile phone was
    withdrawn. "

She should have done though and, funnily enough, that would have taken her
    to 12 points and ban.

Because she'd just been done for careless driving and the specific
charge of driving a mobile was superfluous.

Or do you think she was really nailed for careless driving just for
bumping a car while parking so gently that neither vehicle was damaged?

  5. Very steep for a touch that caused no damage - I'm certainly no fan of
hers, but I don't like to see anyone stitched up in court. They should
have simply pressed on with the phone charge - records easy enough to
get for that - and possibly the leaving the scene.
To get fined 350 and costs and 3 points for a 'no damage' parking bump
is absurd on the face of it and does the law no favours - the CPS are
not shown in a good light either.

I can exactly see it. But as my wife got done for talking on a mobile whilst
parked at the side of the road I have no sympathy.

Without wishing to sound like a HH lover, that's just fucking ridiculous.
She should've been prosecuted for using the phone, but for a bumper to
bumper knock it's a piss take, especially when there was **** all damage.

I'm inclined to agree. If it is "careless" to drive at low speed while
leaving a parking space in a way that results in no damage to people or
vehicles then I think every driver in the country is guilty. Mind you,
that's probably the way that government and plod like it. "Only the guilty
have anything to fear". So be afraid, very afraid...

  13. Nor did they bring charges of leaving the scene of an accident and
failing to report an accident to police. "Ms Harman is pleased that the
potential charges of leaving the scene of an accident without exchanging
particulars and failing to report an accident to the police have been dropped."

I think the sentence was about right since she was using a mobile whilst
driving. Stupid cow shouldn't have admitted to using the phone.

However if someone cannot get out of a (normal) parking space without having
to hit other cars (wether damage is caused or not) they're just fucking lazy
    or can't drive for shit.

Ok, it was better than a slap on the wrist or nothing at all.
The CPS rarely pursue all violations, they'll choose the one that has the
    most likelyhood of sticking.
Oooh, naughty boy, you know you're not allowed to take previous into
consideration when deciding sentencing for current crimes.

If we did that we'd never wash the tar off.
Hmm, would I want my mother (or father) figure to appear to be a law
breaking, gin swilling, hussy with no regard for the law whatsoever, or a
nice person who made a mistake an admitted to it?

If it was the former I could grow up to be a complete yob and blame it on the
parents. It was me upbringing guv, I wuz sexuallee abuzzed az a kid.
    Perspective, old man.

Borrow Loz' glasses if you must.
She can be what she likes. Are we fond of her?
You mean the person in the flat in the tower block that saw her hit his car?
How the hell can anyone with that vantage point tell she was on the phone?

Was she driving a convertible with a large magnifying glass on top?

(Note I don't know which floor said person was on, so this could be complete
    bolloxs)

So she should've been prosecuted for it, but she wasn't. I still think it's
a bullshit prosecutin, probably brought *just* so "the bringer" can brag
    that he's prosecuted s minister.
No arguments if they got *into* the parking space, but there are many times
when some blind **** (probably on the phone) parks so close to you after
you've gone off somewhere that getting out without a little pushing on
    bumpers is impossible.

I thought you weren't allowed to KNOW about any previous, but once they're
convicted, their previous is allowed and allowed to influence the sentence.
Otherwise we wouldn't see "aggravated" before the usual
    "assault/burglary/rape/whatever" in many cases.
Get t'soap out and start, coz it looks like it's going to be a big jobbie.
The plod will have checked her phone records. We DO live in the workd of Big
    Bruv, after all.
